About Brickyard Weekend 2025
The NASCAR Cup Series Brickyard 400 presented by PPG takes place on the iconic 2.5-mile oval at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) on Sunday, July 27, with the Pennzoil 250 for the NASCAR Xfinity Series taking place Saturday, July 26. This year’s event continues a legacy more than three decades in the making.
The Brickyard Weekend made its return to the oval in 2024 to mark NASCAR’s 30th year at the Racing Capital of the World. The race dates back to August 6, 1994, when Hoosier native and racing legend Jeff Gordon claimed victory at the inaugural Brickyard 400—the first race at IMS beyond the Indy 500 since 1916. From 1994 through 2020, the Brickyard 400 held its place on the oval before briefly moving to the road course. Now, it’s back where it belongs.
Whether you’re a longtime race fan or experiencing the thrill for the first time, this historic weekend at IMS is not to be missed.
